An Air Canada flight between Toronto and Deer Lake, Newfoundland had to make an emergency landing in Halifax Wednesday evening.
Flight AC682 left Toronto’s Pearson Airport at 3:10 p.m. ET and was scheduled to arrive at Deer Lake Regional Airport at 7:24 p.m. local time.
Global News’ Julia Wong was on scene at Halifax Stanfield Airport where the plane made the emergency landing at around 5:30 p.m. ET.
The plane landed safely and Halifax Fire Division Commander Chuck Bezanson said there was no visible smoke or fire.
Air Canada released a statement saying the landing was due to an issue with cabin pressure.

“The aircraft landed normally and safely after it developed a cabin pressurization issue, during which oxygen masks were deployed. The cause has not been determined at this time, and the aircraft has been taken out of service for evaluation.”
“Customers still wishing to travel will be re-booked on a new flight this evening to Deer Lake.”
