A former newspaper editor from Princeton has been sentenced to 21 months behind bars for pornography offenses.
Donald William Mare, 59, the former editor of the Similkameen Spotlight, pleaded guilty to three charges related to child pornography and voyeurism in Penticton court Monday.

Police were made aware of Mare’s activities after a guest at his house found binders of photographs with his victim’s head pasted onto pornographic images.
Mare also installed a hidden camera in a bathroom to record his victim and made DVD copies.
He was also dismissed from his job for viewing inappropriate content on his computer.
Once released from jail, Mare will be on the sexual offender registration for 10 years.
