MONTREAL – Police are investigating a shooting in Rosemont that took place at 1:50 a.m. Monday morning.
A 911 call was made about gun shots being fired on 18th Avenue between de Bellechasse Street and Rosemont Boulevard.

Officers were unable to locate a victim, but a man showed up at Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital not long after the incident suffering from gun shot wounds.

“The victim is a 21-year-old man related to street gangs and known to authorities,” said Jean-Pierre Brabant with Montreal police.
“We do not fear for his life and he is not cooperating with police.”
Authorities have ruled it an attempted murder and investigators are on the scene looking for witnesses.
