WINNIPEG — The Manitoba Government has issued a beach advisory for Gimli Beach, due to an unacceptable high level of e-coli bacteria in the water.

Swimmers are advised to avoid swallowing lake water, wash their hands before handling food and avoid swimming with an open cut or wound.

E. coli levels are all other beaches located on lake Winnipeg are within recreational water quality objectives.

Gimli Beach will be re-sampled on Monday.
