Police investigate serious collision in Cloverdale

Three people have been taken to hospital after a serious accident in Cloverdale.

Police say a blue car ran a red light and smashed into the side of a station wagon.

It happened just before 10 p.m. last night at 176th Street and 64th Avenue.

Firefighters had to use the jaws of life to get the driver out, who had to be taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Two people from the other car fled the scene, but were caught nearby by RCMP.

They were treated for minor injuries.

Police are now investigating whether speed, drugs, or alcohol were involved.
