EDMONTON – Monday morning was a unique experience for kids with special needs as they were provided private access to the K-Days Midway.
The children along with their families and local heroes participated in the annual Monday Morning Magic.
“This is something that’s really special, and I don’t think that anyone can come on the grounds and not have a smile on their face,” said Jennifer Sheehan, Northlands Public Relations Manager.
“It’s really great. We came in and the cheerleaders were all cheering for them. They were a little overwhelmed, but they’re pretty excited,” said Tracy Doyle, a mother.

The local heroes at the event included emergency responders and members of the Edmonton Oil Kings and Edmonton Eskimos.
“I’m not a huge roller coaster guy so these kiddie rides are just fine for me. But, yeah, it’s a great thing for us to be able to interact with these kids and, like I said, just to see their smiling faces is worth it,” said Matt Nichols, Eskimos quarterback.

Along with enjoying the rides, children had the opportunity to sit in a police cruiser.
“I’m very proud to be here. I think they’re all very courageous families, and it’s great to be a part of it today,” said Const. Patrick Frenette, RCMP
It’s the 38th year of Monday Morning Magic.
