MONTREAL – One person is dead following an accident in Villeray, just off the Metropolitan.
A taxi and a car collided at the corner of Cremazie boulevard and Saint-Hubert street around 2:20 a.m.
“The 25-year-old taxi driver passed away. He was declared dead onsite,” said Jean-Pierre Brabant with the Montreal police.
The 19-year-old driver of the other vehicle was arrested.
“According to witnesses, he was driving north on Saint-Hubert speeding,” said Brabant.
“There were also three passengers in the car that were injured.”
He is facing charges of dangerous driving causing death.
Cremazie boulevard is closed from Saint-Hubert to Christophe-Colomb streets.
