Changes coming to 29 downtown Edmonton bus routes

EDMONTON – With more buildings going up in the downtown core and an ever-evolving landscape, changes are coming to dozens of bus routes.

Edmonton Transit System is making permanent service changes to 29 downtown routes, which include adjustments to schedules and bus stop locations.

Bus service will no longer run along 102 Avenue between 95 Street and 103 Streets. Bus stops near Edmonton City Centre Mall, Don Wheaton YMCA, Commerce Place, Churchill Square, Stanley A. Milner Library and the Winspear Centre will be permanently closed.

The 29 routes permanently changing are: 3, 7, 8, 12, 14, 15, 16, 52, 60, 61, 62, 65, 68, 69, 72, 90, 100, 112, 125, 134, 140, 151, 160, 161, 162, 180, 197, 308, 309 and some DATS stop adjustments.

The changes come into effect on Sunday, June 28.

The changes are in addition to previous adjustments made in April to accommodate construction of Rogers Place and other downtown development.

Transit riders are urged to check their travel routes and schedules on the city’s website.
