Calgary teen collects Braille books for blind students in Philippines

CALGARY – Kaylee Brown has been blind since birth, but she’s blessed with a strong vision when it comes to helping others.

A Grade 10 student at Jack James High School, Brown has spent the past three months collecting donations of Braille books. She’s now boxing them up to be shipped to the Philippines.

“They don’t have much of it, the stuff I have here,” she said.

The 15-year-old’s hard work is really paying off – she’s sending 176 books overseas.

“I think they’ll be really happy to get them,” said Brown.
