Campbell Collegiate student stabbed just off of school property

REGINA – A 16-year-old Regina teen was taken to hospital after an apparent stabbing near Campbell Collegiate on Wednesday afternoon.

Police were called to the school just after 1:30 p.m. to respond to a report of an injured student. Early indications are that the 16-year-old student was approached by an unidentified suspect just south of the school where he was attacked.

The student was taken to hospital with what are described as non-life threatening injuries.

The incident forced Campbell, Leboldus and several elementary schools in the south end to go into a hold and secure mode. Those protocols were lifted after approximately 40 minutes.

Police do not believe this attack was random.
