PENTICTON – The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen will get some money back after paying too much for a municipal construction project.
It has won a lawsuit against Associated Engineering (B.C.) Ltd. for negligence and breach of contract relating to work the firm did as part of the Naramata Water Supply 2005 Improvement Project.

The district successfully argued there were cost overruns that were the defendant’s fault and excessive amounts were paid for gravel.
The engineering company has been ordered to pay the RDOS $150,000 in damages and must also cover most of the district’s legal costs.
