Beechwood Elementary School raises money for Shriners

PIERREFONDS – There was a lot of talk Sunday about the Montreal’s Children’s Hospital as it successfully moved from it’s old digs on Tupper Street, to the new McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) at the Glen site.

Joining them in the fall will be the Montreal Shriners Hospitals for Children Canada.

Today, a group of graduating sixth graders from Beechwood Elementary School held a fundraiser for the Shriners.

Students, in collaboration with Lave-auto iWash employees on St-John’s Boulevard in Pierrefonds, scrubbed cars all afternoon.

But the students weren’t complaining about the hard work.

“It’s outside, it’ll be refreshing and it’s really fun to do,” said Sarah Cassoff.

All profits and donations collected are going directly to the Shriners.

The students picked the Shriners because of personal connections to the hospital.
