Three suspects face 1st-degree murder charges in Hamilton homicide

HAMILTON – Police have laid murder charges against three people in the slaying of a Hamilton man.

Hamilton police Sgt. Ian Matthews says the three were arrested Wednesday in Hamilton and Port Hope.

The body of Jesse Kovacs was discovered Dec. 22, and an autopsy determined he had been attacked three days earlier.

Matthews says Hamilton police were contacted by police in Port Hope and Cobourg after photographs were released from surveillance footage.

George Cooke, 41, his nephew Matthew Cooke, 28, both of Port Hope, and Danielle Delottinville, 28, of Hamilton, are charged with first-degree murder.

They are due in court today.
