UPDATE: June 9 – IHIT says they have now arrested and charged a man in connection with the death of his mother in Richmond on May 19.
Darwin Lescano, 38, has been charged with second-degree murder in the murder of 62-year-old Redelma Belisario.
“Investigators acted quickly when information related to Mr. Lescano’s whereabouts came to light; they notified Vancouver Police who were able to locate him and make the arrest,” said Sgt. Stephanie Ashton, media relations officer for IHIT.
Lescano will be appearing in court today.

VANCOUVER – The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is looking for a man in connection with the death of his mother.
Richmond RCMP were called to a home in the 10000-block of Woodhead Road just after 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday after family members found 62-year-old Redelma Belisario dead in the home. IHIT believes she met with foul play.
They are looking for her 38-year-old son, Darwin Lescano as it is believed he is the suspect in Redelma’s death.
“It is the priority of IHIT to locate Mr. Lescano. We are asking that anyone who knows where Mr. Lescano may be or if you see him that you call police immediately, do not approach him,” said Sgt. Stephanie Ashton of IHIT.

Lescano is 5’6”, 141 lbs. with black hair, brown eyes and a slim build. He may have a shaved head or close-cropped hair at this time. He is considered a danger to himself and others.
If you see him, do not approach and call 9-1-1.
Police are not releasing any further information at this time.
