REGINA – The province is providing more money to the coffers of organizations that help sexual assault victims.

On Wednesday the province announced that six organizations that help sexual assault victims will be receiving a total of $1.2 million in funding – a 22 per cent increase from last year’s funding.

“This is a substantial funding increase and shows this government takes the issue of sexual assault in Saskatchewan seriously,” Regina Douglas Park MLA Russ Marchuk said on behalf of Justice Minster and Attorney General Gordon Wyant.

“We must do all we can for victims of sexual assault in this province. I am proud we can help these programs continue their good work.”
