Emotional memorial service for Claresholm triple murder-suicide

LETHBRIDGE – A memorial for the victims of a triple murder-suicide in southern Alberta a month ago has heard that two promising baseball players were called up to the major leagues.

Tanner Craswell and Mitch MacLean were gunned down along with Tabitha Stepple on a highway south of Calgary by an angry ex-boyfriend who turned the gun on himself.

Scott Reiling, who was Craswell’s first billet, says the two young men are now playing in a better place and turning magnificent double plays.

Shayna Conway, the lone survivor of the shooting rampage, made the three hour journey from her hospital in Calgary.

She was pushed into the service in a wheelchair by her father Scott.

About 1,500 people are attending the service.
