COLD LAKE, Alta. – RCMP are investigating child pornography and sexual assault accusations involving an employee of the Canadian Forces base in Cold Lake.
A Cold Lake man has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and possession and distribution of child pornography after a complaint was made to RCMP in Swift Current, Sask. about an individual receiving pornographic images from a Cold Lake resident.

RCMP, with the assistance of Cold Lake Child and Family Services, attended the residence of the accused to check on the welfare of his family, and the man was arrested without incident. Investigators do not believe any of the alleged offences were committed outside of the family home.
Cold Lake RCMP have been assisted in their investigation by resources from the Integrated Child Exploitation Team (ICE) and Alberta Special Prosecutions. Investigators have also requested assistance from Military Police at 4 Wing Cold Lake, where the accused is employed at the air force base.
The man’s name is not being released in an effort to protect the identity of the victim. He will remain in custody until his next court appearance on January 25.
