WATCH: The parents of a Cranbrook man who went missing four years ago are pleading with the public for information about his disappearance. Catherine Urquhart reports.
A 27-year-old who lived in Cranbrook, Cox hadn’t been heard from for a few weeks when his parents contacted Cranbrook RCMP on April 30, 2011. In the years since, they’ve investigated his disappearance and followed up on a number of leads, but have so far come up empty.
“The thousands of hours we’ve spent on the phone, and looking on Facebook, and looking for that one connection that police just don’t have time to look for…that’s a daily thing for us,” says his mother Jan.
At the time of his disappearance, Cox was 27 years old, five-foot-nine and 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. The only thing that’s known at this point is he was last seen on April 6, 2011, with another man.
David’s parents are hopeful someone in the Kootenays knows what happens to Cox, and calls Cranbrook RCMP at 250 489-3471 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS to provide information.
“I don’t like the word closure, because I don’t think you close a life of a son,” says Jan.
“If we could bring him home and bury our son, then we would at least be able to remember him, and say there it is.”
