Kelowna Rockets downed by Winterhawks

PORTLAND–The Portland Winterhawks beat the Kelowna Rockets 7-3 on Tuesday night, taking a two-games-to-one lead in the Western Conference final.

This despite the fact that Kelowna outshot Portland 44-40 in the game.

Leon Draisaitl, Cole Linaker and Riley Stadel all scored for the Rockets. But Portland scored four goals in the first two periods, chasing Jackson Whistle from the net after gave up 4 goals on 18 shots.

Replacement Michael Herringer didn’t fare much better, giving up three goals on 22 shots.

The series continues on Wednesday night in Portland.
