Former Calgary police chief Rick Hanson loses to NDP in Calgary-Cross

CALGARY – Calgary’s former police chief Rick Hanson wasn’t able to overcome an NDP surge during the 2015 Alberta election.

Hanson ran as the Progressive Conservative candidate in the riding of Calgary-Cross, but lost the election to NDP candidate Ricardo Miranda.

Hanson retired from the Calgary Police Service on March 13th, and was appointed as the Tory candidate for Calgary-Cross the next day by Jim Prentice.

  • Independent: Katherine Le Rougetel
  • NDP: Ricardo Miranda
  • Progressive Conservative: Rick Hanson
