Gunfire reportedly erupts in 2 Surrey neighbourhoods

VANCOUVER – Surrey RCMP are reportedly investigating two separate incidents of gunfire overnight.

Residents in one Surrey neighbourhood say there was a shootout involving several vehicles.

Global News is learning that shots were fired near 70th Avenue and 149th Street late Monday night. Police were on scene shortly after to search for evidence. There are reports two vehicles crashed into each other but police have not confirmed that.

“We heard a couple of gunshots, like seven or eight,” said resident Parveer Sekhon. “And then we heard a screech and we came outside and saw the car. Dogs came to our backyard, they were sniffing everywhere.”

There was a second situation reported at 93rd Avenue and 153rd Street. It’s not clear if anyone was hurt but we are expecting more information from police later today.
