WHITBOURNE, N.L. – A Newfoundland hunter has been taken to hospital after being shot near the town of Bellevue on the Avalon Peninsula.
A spokesman for the RCMP says the victim in his 30s suffered injuries to one hand and his mid-section in what appears to be an accidental shooting by another hunter.

The victim was taken out of the woods by friends, then transported to a clinic in Whitbourne by ambulance.
Whitbourne RCMP is investigating.
