$20,000 worth of date rape drug seized in Calgary

CALGARY – Calgary investigators have charged two men and seized a large amount of date rape drug.

Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) officers seized two litres of Gamma Hydroxybutyric (GHB), also known as the date-rape drug, from a home in the 1800 block of 26th Avenue S.W. The drug is valued at approximately $20,000.

Officers also found a small quantity of ecstasy, miscellaneous drug paraphernalia and over $8,000 in cash.

Joshua Kemp, 25, is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of ecstasy, and proceeds of crime and breach of recognizance. Kemp is currently facing charges in a separate drug investigation.

William Roy Young, 22, is also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, poession of ecstasy and proceeds of crime.
