Winnipeg man charged in 2014 domestic killing

WINNIPEG – Police charged a man in the death last year of a woman in what officers say was a domestic incident.

Ronald Alvin Thomas, 43, is charged with manslaughter in death of Beatrice Ann Crane, 44, on November 21, 2014.

Crane was found in a suite in the 500 block of Victor Street with stab wounds – she later died in hospital.

According to a police news release Tuesday, “It was learned that the victim and accused had been involved in a domestic dispute which escalated to the point where the accused armed himself with a weapon and proceeded to stab the victim.”

Officers obtained a warrant and arrested Thomas Monday afternoon downtown.
