St-Jean-sur-Richelieu house features 20-foot Olaf made from snow

MONTREAL — What’s white, 20-feet tall and likes warm hugs?

If you guessed Olaf, the fictional character from Walt Disney’s 53rd animated film, Frozen, you were bang on.

The 20-foot snowman was built on a residential street in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que. by 21-year-old Benoît Sabourin.

He started work on Olaf in February and, according to an interview with CBC, he has spent over 200 hours on the project.

The snowman’s final touches — a large carrot nose and big black buttons — were added on the first day of spring.

An ironic twist, considering the lyrics to Olaf’s mid-movie show-stopper, In Summer“I’ll be doing whatever snow does … in summer.”

The neighbourhood has welcomed Olaf with open arms, with thousands of people driving or walking past to take a look.
