HALIFAX – Halifax Regional Police ticketed 30 cars overnight and towed others as snow clearing in the municipality continues.
There will be rolling street closures throughout the day Friday as crews clear mountainous snow banks. Halifax Regional Police Staff Sgt. Bill Morris said crews are trying to keep main roads open during rush hour to accommodate traffic.
The 24/7 street parking ban continues to be enforced even on streets that are fully cleared said Staff Sgt. Morris.
On Thursday city staff said the goal was for all residential streets to see a plow by Thursday night, however, some streets in Sackville and Hammonds Plains were still snowed in.
City spokesperson Jennifer Stairs said Friday morning that snow removal and street widening on Old Sackville Road was progressing well. Once it is cleared better, she said crews will have access to side streets to being work on them.
