REGINA – Fire crews were kept busy Thursday night battling a fire that completely destroyed a Regina automotive repair shop.
The fire department responded to the blaze along the 500 block of Cornwall Street around 8:15 p.m.
Officials said the owner of the shop was working on a vehicle when the fire broke out. He attempted to extinguish the blaze but was unsuccessful and called 911.
The cause of the fire is being investigated but officials said it appears there was some sort of vehicle malfunction.
The owner of the shop didn’t suffer any injuries in the fire and officials said nobody else was in the building at the time.
Fire crews said the building is expected to be a complete loss.
