RCMP investigating sudden death in North Battleford, Sask.

RCMP are investigating after the discovery of a body found in an abandoned residence in North Battleford, Saskatchewan on Tuesday afternoon. 

Mounties were called to the residence in the 1900-block 99th Street around 3:00 p.m. after a caretaker found the human remains. 

The residence was immediately sealed off and an investigation into the death was started. 

Police say the remains have been there for an extended period of time. 

There has been no positive identification of the deceased and an autopsy is scheduled to be held in Saskatoon Wednesday morning to determine the cause of death. 

RCMP continue to investigate.
