TORONTO – Toronto police are searching for the driver of a vehicle in connection with a hit-and-run on an officer’s cruiser early Thursday morning.
The two vehicles collided at Weston Road and Eglinton Avenue West around 1 a.m.
The suspect’s car left the scene but was found abandoned a few blocks away.

Police say the same vehicle crashed into another car on Seneca Avenue near Rogers and Weston Roads.
Police have not released a description of the suspect.
The incident happened half an hour after a shooting near the Jane and Lawrence area.
Witnesses reported hearing gunshots and shell casings were found. No victim was located.
Police won’t say if there’s any connection between the two events.
