According to the CBC, the Quebec head of Service Canada, Marc Simoneau, sent an email last month to the 118 offices in the province, directing them not to put up holiday decorations in public areas.

Montreal’s main federal building, the Service Canada office in Complexe Guy Favreau, was bereft of holiday decorations this afternoon. A bleak contrast to the festive decorations at Complexe Desjardins across the street, not to mention City Hall.

One employee at Canada Post in Montreal told Global News reporter Tim Sargeant this morning, “We’re all about Christmas.”
