CALGARY – Police are investigating a string of robberies that are believed to be related.

Overnight Tuesday, three 7-Eleven convenience stores, two Petro-Canada gas stations and a flower shop were targeted by thieves. The offender first struck at the 7-Eleven on Copperstone Street S.E. around 10:30 p.m.; the last robbery occurred around 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Grower Direct Flower Shop on Heritage Drive S.E.

Police believe the robberies are also connected to three others that occurred last week at a Petro-Canada on 16th Avenue N.W. and two Esso gas stations in northeast Calgary.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, between 25 and 40 years old, 5’5″ to 5’9″ tall with a day’s growth of facial hair. He may be driving in a grey vehicle.

In each robbery the man was armed with a knife and demanded money from the cashier.
