Listing the tallest buildings in Toronto

TORONTO – Completed in 1894, the Beard
Building was considered Toronto’s first
skyscraper. Since then, many noteworthy skyscrapers have been built in Toronto. Today, Build
Toronto – a city-owned development firm – announced, in partnership with
Tridel, a new 75-storey condo building.

The building will be the tallest condo-building in Toronto.

We’ve decided to list the 10 tallest buildings in Toronto and show you
where Build Toronto’s development at 10
York St will measure up against the rest.

1.First Canadian
Place

Built in 1975, First Canadian Place at 100 King St West is the tallest building
in Toronto. The
office building measures 355 metres at the tallest tip of it’s antenna.

height, it will be the second tallest building in Toronto. Trump Tower,
at 25 Adelaide St West,
was originally supposed to be 70 floors high but as partners backed out, it was
scaled back to 57 floors.

the city’s history at 33.5 metres; Scotiabank’s Canadian bullion vault sits
underneath the tower’s five basement levels.

4. Aura at College
Park.

This residential tower will tie the Build Toronto condo
tower in floors. Located at 444
Yonge St, Aura at College Park is set to be completed in 2014.

Trust Tower

Completed in 1990, the TD Tower is the fifth tallest
building in Toronto.

The proposed tower at 45 Bay Street will have less floors than
others on this list – coming in at only 47 – but will still be one of the
tallest in Toronto.

8. Commerce
Court West

Built in 1972, the Commerce
Court West tower measures up at 287 metres at it’s

One of the more prestigious addresses on this list, the
Number One Bloor residential tower will be measured at 237.7 metres when it is
