Meet the dancers inside shark costumes during Katy Perry’s Super Bowl show

TORONTO — A pair of dancing sharks managed to take a bite out of Katy Perry’s performance of “Teenage Dream” during the Super Bowl halftime show on Sunday night. They quickly went viral on social media and were mocked by many for their awkward dance moves.

The shark on the left even got its own Twitter account (“I might be left shark, but I’m the right shark for you,” reads his description.)

Now, the men inside the costumes are enjoying global fame.

The shark to Perry’s right (on the left in photos) was Bryan Gaw and the shark to her left (on the right in photos) was Scott Myrick. Both are regular dancers on Perry’s tours.

Myrick has defended the pair’s stilted dancing (visibility was “terrible,” he said on reddit) and explained he had only a minute-and-a-half to change from his costume for the “Dark Horse” number to the shark costume for “Teenage Dream.”
