There are renewed calls to build an underpass at 11th Street and 9th Avenue S.W.
The intersection is a notorious “no go” zone whenever a train rolls through the downtown core.
Up to 9,000 vehicles and 5,000 pedestrians use 11th Street S.W. every day.

Evan Woolley is the Councillor for Ward 8.
“It’s a tough one, the city is growing rapidly and we have a lot of transportation infrastructure projects we need to take.”
Woolley says its time the city put an underpass on its radar, even if it’s not currently on the 10 year Capital Infrastructure Plan.
The cost of an underpass at that location would come in at about $40 million.
