Terminally ill bride from Saskatoon passes away

SASKATOON – A Saskatchewan woman who made headlines this past summer and touched the hearts of people across the country passed away Monday at the age of 28. Megan Wolfe was diagnosed with a deadly form of cancer less than a year ago.

One of her last wishes was to marry the man of her dreams. Through the kindness of strangers and a crowdfunding campaign, the Saskatoon woman walked down the aisle in Edmonton last August.

She leaves behind her husband Josh Melnyk and their five children.

The couple met by chance in a doctor’s office waiting room four years ago.

Her funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon at the Westwood Funeral Chapel on 20th Street in Saskatoon. Memorial donations are welcome at St. Paul’s Hospital‘s palliative care unit.
