TORONTO — Canadian music icon Joni Mitchell has a new career at 71: fashion model.
The singer-songwriter appears in a series of advertisements for Saint Laurent wearing a tunic from the Folk collection with a custom-made leather cape and wide-brimmed hat.
Mitchell is seen holding a guitar in the three images.
The ads are part of the Saint Laurent Music Project campaign, which has also featured Chuck Berry, Marilyn Manson and Marianne Faithfull.

Mitchell was born in Alberta but spent many years in Saskatchewan and eventually moved to Toronto to pursue her music career.
The photos were taken at Mitchell’s home in Bel Air, Calif. by the fashion label’s creative director Hedi Slimane.
