Girl charged after chase with Saskatoon police in stolen vehicle

SASKATOON – Charges are pending against a teen after she led Saskatoon police on a chase in a stolen vehicle Friday morning. It started when the vehicle was reported stolen around 2 a.m. from the 2400-block of 22nd Street West.

The vehicle was spotted by officers around 4 a.m. in the area of 21st Street and Avenue M. When they tried to stop the vehicle, the driver took off, leading police on a chase through the west city of the city.

Tire-deflation devices were deployed, puncturing at least one tire. The vehicle was eventually stopped on 1st Avenue just north of 25th Street and the driver was arrested.

Theft, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police charges are pending against the 16-year-old girl.
