TORONTO — Actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt quietly married girlfriend Tanya McCauley just days before Christmas.
According to People, the 33-year-old star tied the knot with McCauley at their home.
Gordon-Levitt’s new wife is CEO of Fellow Robots, a robotics company based in California’s Silicon Valley.
Last year, Gordon-Levitt told radio host Howard Stern he met McCauley through mutual friends.
“I tend not to really like to talk about it in public,” he said of his relationship.
But, Gordon-Levitt admitted he was not opposed to marriage. “I could partner up with a woman and commit to we’re going to raise a family and that’s a project we’re going to commit to for 20-something years.”
Gordon-Levitt is a former child star (3rd Rock from the Sun) who went on to become a movie star thanks to roles in Inception, Looper and The Dark Knight Rises.
He was in Montreal last summer shooting The Walk, which is due for release in October. While in the city, he made a surprise appearance at his 50/50 co-star Seth Rogen’s show at the Just for Laughs comedy festival.
In August, Gordon-Levitt — sporting a Montreal Expos cap — was photographed out in New York City with McCauley.
It is the actor’s first marriage.
