Bombardier signs $484 million Paris train deal

MONTREAL — Bombardier Inc. has received a $484-million order for 42 double-deck regional trains, to be used in the Parisian suburban transportation network.

The order is part of a contract for up to 860 trains, signed in 2010 by SNCF on behalf of several regional systems throughout France.

The latest order is for the Ile-de-France region and brings the number ordered to a total of 201 Regio 2N trains.

Bombardier Transportation says it will begin delivery of the new trains in September 2017.
