Sausage, kolbassa products recalled over Listeria concerns

Canadian Food Inspection Agency

OTTAWA – Federal health authorities say two meat products sold in Ontario are being recalled due to concerns about possible Listeria contamination.

The recall affects Franz’s smoked black bean and salsa sausage and Franz’s gold medal kolbassa made by Peterborough-based Franz Roessl Holdings Ltd.

Both products display a best-before date of Jan. 3, 2015.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says the recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.
