Suspicious fire sets Burnside construction trailer ablaze

HALIFAX – An early morning fire in Burnside Industrial Park is being called suspicious by on-scene investigators.

Fire crews were called to a wooded area behind MacDonald Avenue in Dartmouth around 2 a.m Wednesday morning. They found a mobile construction trailer on fire, as well as a separate pile of smoldering debris.

Engines had to navigate down a rocky lane to reach the fires which were extinguished within an hour.

Halifax Fire investigators deemed the incident suspicious and requested assistance from Halifax Regional Police.

Investigators are still on scene searching for the cause of the fires.
