Woman hit by truck southwest of Edmonton dies

EDMONTON – A 62-year-old woman died after being hit by a pickup truck Thursday evening in Devon.

She was crossing St. Lawrence Avenue when she was hit by a pickup truck heading east. The woman was taken to the Devon Hospital by ambulance but she died from her injuries. RCMP are not releasing her name.

The driver of the truck and a number of witnesses were interviewed by police and the investigation is ongoing.

Alcohol and speed are not factors in the collision.

Devon is about 40 kilometres southwest of Edmonton.
