Nowlan says the suspect — the driver of the vehicle — took off from the scene. Police tracked him down in the area of 66 Street and 195 Avenue and took him into custody.

Nowlan says it’s believed all four men were inside the same vehicle at some point, although it’s not known if the shots were fired while everyone was in the vehicle.

“I can suggest to you that this is a group that are all aware of each other,” said Nowlan. “Based on the interior of the vehicle that we seized, the quantity of blood that was in it – and I can tell you the driver was not injured – that in all likelihood, one or more of these three people that were shot were at one time inside that vehicle.”

According to Nowlan, there was plenty of blood in the vehicle when the suspect was apprehended. There were also bullet holes in the vehicle, Nowlan said.

A handgun was recovered from the vehicle, Nowlan said. Police are not looking for any other suspects.

The EPS says numerous weapons charges are pending.
