Firefighters respond to south Calgary house fire

Calgary firefighters remained at the scene for several hours Friday after a house fire broke out in the southwest community of Millrise.

The fire broke at around 10:30 a.m. in a home on Millbank Road S.W. where flames had spread from a fireplace up through the attic.

Crews were forced to cut through the roof and take down part of the ceiling to get at the flames.

A  person who lives in the home got out safely and there were no injuries.
