The success of his quality fast-food concept allowed Prager to quickly expand throughout Switzerland and Europe.

In 1992 Prager sold his majority stake in the company to German businessman August von Finck.

Swiss food and drinks giant Nestle now owns the right to market ice cream under the Moevenpick brand.

Prager, who died Saturday, is survived by his wife Jutta, their children and grandchildren.

The family says a memorial will take place in Zurich’s Frauenmuenster church Oct. 28.
