VANCOUVER – The music director of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra is issuing a plea for information after two irreplaceable pieces of music were stolen from his SUV on Saturday night.

Bramwell Tovey had just led the orchestra in a performance of the War Requiem.

After the show he left his vehicle with the valet at the Wedgewood Hotel. When he arrived home he noticed several items were missing.

The case for his maestro batons was gone, along with two scores, including part of the manuscript for a new composition.

Tovey says he has searched several downtown alleyways but has found nothing. He’s offering a reward for any information that leads to the music.
