SASKATOON – The City of Saskatoon experienced the first significant snowfall to hit the ground this season.
According to the city, three centimetres of snow fell early Saturday morning.
Saskatoon’s roads are slick due to snow melting on streets that are still holding some heat, followed by cooler temperatures.
Environment Canada has forecasted a few flurries in the evening.
Motorists are advised to use caution and drive at lower speeds to get used to winter driving conditions.

On Saturday, the city dispatched 13 sanders applying de-icing material in an attempt to clear icy roads for drivers and pedestrians. Priority 1, 2 and 3 streets have been salted and crews are now in residential areas addressing trouble intersections.
The city is asking drivers stay 15 metres behind maintenance equipment and be prepared to stop.
