HALIFAX – Police in Halifax are warning of a phone scam that targets utility customers.
Investigators say they have received three complaints since Wednesday from local businesses who were contacted by someone posing as a utility company representative.
The caller states that the business’s account is overdue and the only way to make payment is through a pre-paid credit card.
