Fire burns at recycling plant in Laval

MONTREAL – Firefighters responded to a huge fire at a recycling plant in Laval early Monday morning.

Officials received the call at 1:09 a.m.

The blaze burned for hours and sent clouds of thick smoke into the air.

Firefighters worked to remove vehicles, recycling bins and other materials to stop the spread of the blaze.

The recycling plant, SNF Recycling, is located at 2185 Montée Masson in Laval.

Environment Canada is currently testing the air and so far have found no toxicity in the air.

There were no reported injuries and investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
