CALGARY – Brenda Clarke moved into her new apartment in Bromley Square four months ago.
Unfortunately, it hasn’t turned into the comfortable living situation she imagined.
“The heat has been off since I lived here.”
It’s just one of many problems she’s been keeping track of, from fire alarms going off to water troubles.
“Water outages have been going on since May 24th.”
She’s also been receiving several notices under her door and it’s becoming a major nuisance.

“Just let me exist in the sanctity of my home!”
The final straw came when she received another notice – an eviction order – for not paying rent on time. She has the bank statements to prove she has.
Clarke has discovered she’s not the only one who’s received the order. Sheila Shayesteh also got an eviction notice after paying rent.
The building’s management company says it’s all a misunderstanding.
Timbercreek Asset Management recently took over the building that includes 300 units over 30 floors. They admit they’re off to a rocky start due to new staff and technical glitches. Those who provide proof of payment will not be evicted.
The building is also undergoing major renovations leading to the barrage of notices. The company is asking their tenants to be patient with them.
A tough request for Clarke who’s patience is quickly wearing thin.
“No more promises. Get it done.”
Timbercreek says there were about nine people who received eviction notices who shouldn’t have and it’s currently in the process of fixing the problem.
